It’s harder for me to write when I am happy, because no one
wants to read about how completely wholesome someone feels when they are
surrounded by the people they love.
I don’t want to write when I am happy, because I don’t want
anyone to take my memories I have of you and claim them for themselves.

A lot of my friends have been talking and going on about how
the people around us have changed, because of the different situations and
circumstances they have been thrown into. I think it was only then that I had
an epiphany about the whole notion of changing for the better/worse:
When someone changes – whether in character or morals – it would
never be considered bad, on their standards. When we say we don’t like something,
it is almost always based on our own perception and standards of how we would
like for it to be.
I was basing his shift in morals on my standards, and not
his; and I think that this has made me think a lot about how when we say we do
not care, we are simply saying that we do not care enough for something that is
not good enough, based on our own expectations of it. We do care, but just not
enough for us to want to change it, yet enough for us to grumble about how it
can be better.
Better on our own standards.
